Best Time to Visit
Peak season in Amsterdam runs from April to October, but visits tend to spike in July and August. In the summer months, the streets are alive with action, and you can expect long lines at local attractions and relatively higher prices on accommodations.
Winter in Amsterdam is always a delight, with lower prices and fewer crowds. The weather is cooler but still comfortable, and the holidays are always a great time to visit.

Amsterdam Transportation
Traffic in Amsterdam is not as congested as in many other European cities, thanks in part to the large number of bicycle commuters. You will see plenty of bikes traversing the streets, and you can even rent one to see the city on your own.
The city of Amsterdam is also served by an extensive system of trains and buses, all accessible via a single ticket. Be sure to check out the maps before you leave home – the city is easy to navigate and relatively compact.


Amsterdam Weather
Winters are relatively cool in Amsterdam, so dress accordingly. Winter temps routinely dip to around 5 Celsius (into the 40s Fahrenheit), but the spring brings warmer weather. Summer temps are relatively mild, with the mercury rising to 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (low to mid-70s Fahrenheit) in the daytime and dipping as low as 10 to 13 degrees Celsius (mid-50s Fahrenheit) at night.
